The Bitterpan 4x4 trail is a one-way sand route west from Nossob across the dunes, past Bitterpan Wilderness Camp, to the Auob side of the park. It is only open to guests staying at Bitterpan, starts at a locked gate at Nossob, and needs a high-clearance 4x4 with low range; SUVs, AWDs and trailers are not allowed. Moravet Pan and Strathmore and Craig Lockhart waterholes are along the way.
