We’ve always loved the simple moments in the wild: early mornings, coffee in hand, heading out for a drive with no idea what the day might bring. For us, it’s never just about finding an animal; it’s about being out there together, watching, waiting, and sharing those little moments along the way. I’m Hendrik. Cherise inspires me every day and has helped shape opspoor alongside me from the very beginning. It’s something we’re building together, our way of bringing people who love the wild as much as we do a little closer to it.
The problem we solve
I built opspoor to find more animals without adding to the queue.
On almost every drive I wanted two things that didn’t fit together: a better chance of finding animals, and not being one more car in a jam around them. I once counted 20 cars at a single lion sighting in Kruger. opspoor is my answer. It helps you plan where and when to drive, from what’s been seen recently, the season and the habitat. It shares sightings with a delay and a blurred location, so nobody races to one animal. How we share sightings responsibly.
