About Red Rocks Viewpoint

Red Rocks Viewpoint overlooks the Shingwedzi River where it cuts through distinctive reddish Gubyane sandstone, forming smooth rock surfaces and water-filled potholes. The surrounding riverine woodland is particularly scenic, while the pools can retain water and attract wildlife even when the river is low. The site is also associated with the cultural history of Khubyane and was once visited by local people who made offerings at the rocks for protection on their journeys.
