About the Little Sparrowhawk

The little sparrowhawk is a small, agile African raptor found mainly in woodland, savanna and areas with scattered trees. It has short, rounded wings and a relatively long tail, adaptations that allow it to manoeuvre rapidly through vegetation while hunting. It primarily preys on small birds but also takes rodents, lizards and insects. It is generally solitary or found in pairs and often hunts from concealed perches before making a rapid surprise attack.
