About the Rufous naped Lark

The rufous-naped lark is a medium-sized African lark found mainly in open grassland, savanna and lightly wooded habitats. It has cryptic brown and buff plumage, a reddish-brown nape and streaked upperparts that provide excellent camouflage against dry grass. It feeds mainly on seeds and insects, foraging on the ground. Males are well known for their aerial display flights and characteristic songs delivered from elevated positions or during flight.
