About the Warthog
The warthog is a robust African wild pig recognised by its large head, facial warts, tusks, sparse hair and distinctive tail that is often held upright when running. It is primarily a grazer but also feeds on roots, bulbs, fruits and other plant material. Warthogs commonly live in family groups consisting of females and young, while adult males are generally more solitary. They shelter in burrows, often entering head-first and reversing out with their tusks facing the entrance.
