About the Eurasian Hobby
The Eurasian hobby is a small, fast-flying falcon that breeds across Europe and Asia and migrates to Africa during the non-breeding season. It has dark slate-grey upperparts, pale streaked underparts, a dark head and distinctive reddish undertail and thighs. It is an agile aerial hunter that catches birds, bats and large flying insects in flight, often pursuing prey at high speed.
