About the Mountain Zebra
The mountain zebra is a specialised zebra of southern Africa adapted to rugged, mountainous and rocky terrain. It has bold black-and-white stripes, a distinctive dewlap and a grid-like pattern of stripes over the rump. It is primarily a grazer, feeding mainly on grasses but also browsing when necessary.
