About the Aardwolf
The aardwolf is a small, specialised member of the hyena family that is primarily insectivorous rather than a predator or scavenger. It has a slender body, long legs, large ears and a yellowish-brown coat marked with vertical dark stripes and a mane along the back. It is mainly nocturnal and feeds almost exclusively on termites, using its long sticky tongue to collect them from the ground.
