Plan Your Whole Trip Before You Get to the Gate
Most trip planning for a park visit happens on a paper map at the gate, or worse, in your head, twenty minutes after you've already driven past the turn you meant to take. opspoor's new Plan a Trip feature replaces that with something you can actually follow.
Pick a park, pick your dates
Open Plan a Trip, choose your park, and set a date range of up to 14 days. opspoor lays out one day at a time, ready for you to build out. Before you even finish setting the trip up, it shows you any guides bookable in that park for those dates — entirely optional, your trip gets built whether you book one or not.
A route you can actually drive
This is where it goes further than a generic map pin list. Every stop you add — a facility, a waterhole, a camp — is placed on a real point in the park's road network, and opspoor checks that it's actually reachable from your last stop before it lets you add it. No itinerary that looks great zoomed out and falls apart the moment you're driving it.
Open a day and you get a full map with your stops in order, a route line drawn along the real roads between them, and a drive-time estimate for the day. Reorder stops, relocate them, add notes, or pull suggestions from a Suggested tab built on trending species activity, or a Camps & Gates tab for the essentials.
Or let it build the loop for you
Don't want to plan stop by stop? Tell opspoor how much time you have — 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes — and Build my trip generates a closed driving loop back to where you started. Accept it as it is, or discard it and build your own from scratch.
Built offline-first, like everything else
Your planned trip is saved to your device and syncs once you're back in range, in keeping with the rest of opspoor. The one thing that needs a live connection is changing your trip dates after the fact — everything else about editing and viewing your itinerary works with zero signal.
A Premium feature
Trip Itinerary is part of opspoor Premium — R69/month, R599/year, or from R29 for a once-off Safari Pass covering just your trip. It comes bundled with everything else Premium unlocks: movement vectors, live intercept timing, full offline maps, and Photography Mode.
