About the Wildebeest (Blue)
The blue wildebeest is a large African antelope recognised by its muscular body, sloping back, dark mane, long black tail and curved horns in both sexes. It is primarily a grazer and feeds mainly on short grasses, often forming large herds on open grassland and savanna. Blue wildebeest are highly social and may undertake seasonal movements in response to rainfall, grazing and water availability. They are an important prey species for many large African predators.
