About the White tailed Mongoose
The white-tailed mongoose is a large, mostly nocturnal mongoose found across much of sub-Saharan Africa. It has a dark brown to black body, relatively short legs and a conspicuously white tail that gives the species its name. It is primarily solitary and highly adaptable, occurring in savanna, woodland, grassland and agricultural areas. Its varied diet includes insects, small mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, eggs and fruit.
