About the Southern Tree Agama
The southern tree agama is a medium-sized African agama commonly found in woodland, savanna and areas with scattered trees. It is an agile climber with a robust body, long tail and strong limbs adapted for life on trunks and branches. Adult males can develop striking breeding colours, including bright blue or turquoise body and head markings with contrasting darker areas, while females are generally less colourful. It feeds mainly on insects and other small invertebrates and is usually seen basking on exposed branches or tree trunks.
