About the Southern Red billed Hornbill
The southern red-billed hornbill is a medium-sized hornbill of southern Africa, commonly found in dry woodland, savanna and open bushveld. It has a long red bill, grey-brown plumage, a pale belly and distinctive white markings on the wings and tail. It spends much of its time foraging on the ground, feeding on insects, small reptiles, seeds, fruit and other food. It is usually encountered in pairs or small groups and often moves between trees and open ground while foraging.
