About the Slender Mongoose
The slender mongoose is a small, long-bodied mongoose widely distributed across sub-Saharan Africa. It has a slender build, relatively short legs, a pointed face and a long tail, with coat colour varying from reddish-brown to grey depending on the region. It is primarily diurnal and usually solitary, although pairs may occur. Its diet is varied and includes insects, small mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians and other small prey. It is commonly found in savanna, woodland, grassland and areas with dense cover.
