About the Rhombic Night Adder
The rhombic night adder is a small, mildly venomous snake of sub-Saharan Africa, commonly associated with grassland, woodland, savanna and areas with dense ground cover. It has a stout body, broad triangular head and a distinctive pattern of dark diamond or rhombic markings along the back. It is mainly nocturnal and feeds primarily on frogs and other amphibians. It is generally secretive and relies on camouflage rather than confrontation when disturbed.
