About the Red Forest Duiker
A small, secretive forest antelope native to eastern and southern Africa. The Red Forest Duiker inhabits dense forests and riverine thickets, where it feeds on leaves, fruits, flowers, fungi, and occasionally insects. Usually solitary or seen in pairs, it relies on thick vegetation for cover and is most active during dawn and dusk.
How to identify the Red Forest Duiker
Small, compact forest antelope with a rich reddish-brown coat, dark back and relatively short legs. The rump and underparts are often lighter, and males have short, simple horns.
