About the Palm nut Vulture
The palm-nut vulture is a distinctive African vulture associated with wetlands, riverine woodland, forest edges and areas containing oil palms. Adults are mainly white with black wings, back and tail, and have a reddish facial patch. Unlike most vultures, it is strongly associated with plant foods, particularly the fruits of oil palms, although it also eats fish, crabs, small vertebrates, carrion and other animal matter. It is usually seen singly or in pairs and is an agile flyer.
