About the Oribi
A small, slender grassland antelope with a raised back, long neck and legs, and a glossy yellowish to rufous-brown coat contrasting with a white chin, throat and rump. It favours tall-grass savanna, floodplains and montane grassland, often near recently burnt areas, and lives in small territorial groups. Males use large preorbital scent glands to mark their territory boundaries and give sharp alarm whistles when danger is sensed.
