About the Large spotted Genet
The large-spotted genet is a small, slender African carnivore recognised by its elongated body, long ringed tail and pale coat covered with dark spots. It is mainly nocturnal and occurs in woodland, savanna, grassland and areas with dense vegetation. It is an opportunistic predator that feeds on rodents, birds, reptiles, amphibians, insects and other small animals, while also consuming fruit. Large-spotted genets are generally solitary and are agile climbers capable of hunting both on the ground and in trees.
