About the Honey Badger
The honey badger is a powerful, highly adaptable carnivore found across much of Africa and parts of Asia. It has a distinctive grey back contrasting with a black underside, a broad head, strong claws and exceptionally loose, tough skin. It is an opportunistic omnivore and predator, eating rodents, reptiles, birds, insects, honey, eggs, fruit and carrion. Honey badgers are mainly solitary and are famous for their strength, persistence and ability to defend themselves against much larger predators.
How to identify the Honey Badger
Stocky, powerful mustelid with a broad flattened head, small ears, thick neck, short legs and a distinctive black body with a broad pale grey or white stripe running from the head along the back.
