About the Green Mamba
The eastern green mamba is a highly venomous, slender and predominantly arboreal snake of coastal and eastern Africa. It has a vivid green coloration that provides camouflage among leaves and branches, with a long, streamlined body and relatively large eyes. It spends much of its time in trees and feeds mainly on birds, eggs, bats and small mammals. It is generally shy and avoids confrontation, relying on its speed and ability to retreat into vegetation when disturbed.
How to identify the Green Mamba
Slender, bright green arboreal snake with a narrow head, large eyes, long tail and smooth scales. The body is usually vivid green above with a yellowish or pale underside, although colour can vary between individuals.
