About the Egyptian Goose
The Egyptian goose is a large African waterfowl species associated with rivers, lakes, dams, wetlands and grassland near water. It has a distinctive pale brown and grey body, dark eye patches and pinkish legs and bill. It feeds mainly on grasses, seeds and other vegetation but can also consume insects and other small food items. Egyptian geese are highly adaptable and often occur in pairs or family groups, becoming particularly territorial around nesting areas.
How to identify the Egyptian Goose
Large goose-like waterbird with a pale grey-brown body, dark brown back, white facial markings and a distinctive pinkish bill and legs. Often has a prominent dark eye patch and dark breast markings.
