About the Common Duiker
The common duiker is a small antelope widely distributed across sub-Saharan Africa. It has a compact body, short legs, a pointed face, a distinctive dark marking on the forehead and short straight horns in males. Its coat ranges from grey to reddish-brown depending on the region. It is primarily a browser, feeding on leaves, shoots, fruits, flowers and other vegetation, while also consuming insects and other small food items. Common duikers are usually solitary or found in pairs and rely heavily on dense cover for protection.
