About the Zebra (Plains)
The plains zebra is a highly social grazing herbivore of eastern and southern Africa. It is recognised by its bold black-and-white striping, with each individual having a unique stripe pattern. Plains zebras live in family groups, usually consisting of a stallion, several mares and their young, and these groups may combine into large herds where food and water are abundant. They primarily graze on grasses and are strongly associated with open grassland and savanna.
