About the Suni

One of the smallest antelope species, the suni is a shy, secretive browser confined to dense coastal and riverine thicket. It is reddish-brown with a paler belly, prominent dark rings around the eyes, and males carry short ridged horns. It relies entirely on thick cover for protection, freezing when threatened before springing away in a sudden bound.

How to identify the Suni

A tiny, reddish-brown antelope with a white belly, dark eye-rings and a nervous, crouching stance. Almost never seen away from dense thicket; usually spotted only as a brief flash of movement in the undergrowth.
