About the Southern Boubou
The southern boubou is a medium-sized bushshrike of southern Africa, commonly associated with dense woodland, thickets, gardens and forest edges. It has predominantly dark upperparts with contrasting white markings and a pale underside, although plumage varies between individuals and populations. It feeds on insects, small reptiles, frogs, birds, eggs and fruit. It is generally territorial and often encountered in pairs, moving quietly through dense vegetation and frequently revealing its presence through its distinctive calls.
