About the Reed Cormorant
The reed cormorant is a small African cormorant closely associated with freshwater habitats including rivers, lakes, dams, wetlands and estuaries. It has predominantly dark plumage, a slender neck and a long tail. It feeds mainly on fish and other aquatic animals, catching prey by diving underwater. After feeding, it is commonly seen perched with its wings spread to dry its plumage.
