About the Red billed Teal
The red-billed teal is a small African duck recognised by its reddish-pink bill, dark head and body and contrasting pale markings. It is associated mainly with freshwater wetlands, lakes, dams, marshes and other open water. It feeds on aquatic vegetation, seeds and other plant material, supplemented by small aquatic invertebrates. It is generally social and may gather in flocks, particularly outside the breeding season.
