About the Long tailed Shrike
The long-tailed shrike is a medium-sized predatory passerine with a distinctive long tail, hooked bill and bold black, grey and white plumage. It occurs across a wide range of open habitats including grassland, savanna, scrub and agricultural areas. It hunts from exposed perches, dropping onto insects, small reptiles, rodents and birds, and may store surplus prey by impaling it on thorns or other sharp objects.
