About the Large Grey Mongoose
The large grey mongoose is a medium-sized, long-bodied mongoose found across much of Africa. It has grey to grey-brown fur, a relatively pointed face, short legs and a long bushy tail. It is adaptable and occurs in woodland, savanna, grassland and areas close to water or human habitation. It is an opportunistic predator and feeds on rodents, reptiles, amphibians, birds, insects and other small animals. It is generally solitary and can be active during both the day and night.
