About the Blesbok
The blesbok is a medium-sized antelope of southern Africa, recognised by its reddish-brown to purplish-brown coat, white face and forehead, and distinctive dark markings around the eyes and nose. It is primarily a grazer and is strongly associated with open grassland and savanna. Blesbok are social and commonly occur in herds, with group size varying according to season and habitat conditions. Both males and females have ridged horns, although males are generally larger and more heavily built.
