About the African Striped Weasel
The African striped weasel is a small, secretive carnivore found in parts of eastern and southern Africa. It has a slender body, short legs and distinctive dark and pale longitudinal stripes along the back and sides. It is mainly nocturnal and occurs in savanna, woodland and areas with dense ground cover. Its diet consists primarily of small mammals, particularly rodents, but it may also take birds, reptiles, amphibians and insects. It is generally solitary and difficult to observe.
