About the African Hawk Eagle
The African hawk-eagle is a medium-sized African raptor associated with woodland and savanna. It has contrasting black, white and chestnut plumage, with dark upperparts and a predominantly pale underside marked with dark streaking. It hunts mainly from perches or while flying through woodland, taking birds, small mammals, reptiles and other small prey. It is generally solitary or found in pairs and is an agile hunter capable of pursuing prey through trees.
