About the African Goshawk
The African goshawk is a medium-sized forest and woodland raptor of sub-Saharan Africa. It has relatively short, rounded wings and a long tail that allow it to manoeuvre rapidly through dense vegetation while pursuing prey. It feeds mainly on birds but also takes small mammals, reptiles, frogs and insects. It is generally solitary or found in pairs and often hunts from concealed perches before making fast attacks through trees and undergrowth.
